Campaign Leadership
The Stand Together Campaign is supported by a committee of New Yorkers with extraordinary recognition and knowledge. These high profile leaders form Team 100, a group of influential business people, government officials, celebrities, and others who are publicly aligned with the campaign.
These leaders are committed to The Salvation Army’s mission to help alleviate the unique social and economic problems afflicting the Greater New York area. They come from a variety of professional backgrounds and have a diversity of expertise, connections, and leadership experience in the public and private sectors.

Regional Campaigns

The Salvation Army serves nearly 100,000 individuals in need throughout Long Island and the Hudson Valley. Hundreds of thousands living in these regions live below the poverty line, and signs indicate that these poverty levels are steadily increasing. Humanitarian efforts in Long Island and the Hudson Valley are central to the Stand Together Campaign’s success. Separate regional leadership committees and leadership launches will help engage the Long Island and Hudson Valley communities. A significant percentage of campaign donations will go toward services in those regions.
Thanksgiving Dinner
Every year, the Salvation Army Greater New York Division hosts one of the area’s best-known and longest-running free Thanksgiving Day meals. Nearly 1,000 hungry New Yorkers attend this event, which traditionally takes place in lower Manhattan. In 2009, we are expanding our efforts exponentially with the aid of generous donations and more than 500 volunteers. We will serve 10,000 New Yorkers in need at locations throughout New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley.
